WINDWOOD FLY-IN RESORT

Conveniently located in the heart of beautiful Canaan Valley, West Virginia, the Windwood Fly-In Resort enables you to enjoy the Mountain Vistas and Panoramas of the area. Canaan Valley is surrounded by the 909,137 acres of National Forest, the Dolly Sods Wilderness area, 500th National Wildlife Refuge, Canaan Valley & Blackwater Falls State Parks. Canaan Valley is well nown as a Four Season Paradise. Canaan Valley is also home to the three downhill & cross country sky areas, Timberline, Canaan Valley, and Whitegrass; a championship golf course; and some of the State's most highly acclaimed rivers for whitewater activities and sport fishing. You may also enjoy the miles of mountain biking, hiking, and horse-back riding trails found here in Canaan Valley.

The gorgeous Windwood Inn features 17 rooms, a conference/banquet room, Amelia's Restaurant, and Bunkhouse units. Accomodations range from the beautiful rooms of the Inn to spacious living at the resort's homes. An outdoor heated pool, volleyball court, gas grills and picnic areas are provided for your pleasure and comfort.

Lodge accommodations include a luxurious king size bed or two double-size beds, individual heating and air conditioning, and satellite TV (offering 15+ channels). Handicap accessable rooms are available.

Windwood Fly-In Resort is West Virginia's only resort community located adjacent to the state's only private paved runway. The Windwood Resort features a 3,000 ft paved runway with pilot activated lights, the Inn, and private homesites. The 46 homesites range in size from approximately .333 to 2.0 acres. Many of the lots have direct access to the airstrip. The north side of the airstrip is being developed for multi-family homes.

Bunkhouse lodging is also available - (65 bunks) perfect for large groups (boy scouts, 4-H groups, youth groups, etc.)

Arcade Room - includes jukebox, pool table, air hockey, and several arcade-style games.

Windwood Conference Room seats approximately 50-75 people, perfect for business meeting, and group meetings.

Windwood Weight Room - Free access to our weight room factility.

Close to skiing, golf courses, hiking and mountain bike trails, horse-back riding, hunting and fishing.

Amelia's Restaurant - Open Wednesday through Sunday, offers delicious homemade meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Our homemade desserts are prepared daily by our in-house pastry cook.

Pilot Info

Our asphalt runway is 3,000 feet long by 40 feet wide.

There are houses along the sides of the runway.

The lights work on 123.0, we use 122.9 for Unicom. No prior permission needed.

The staff does not always monitor the radio.

There is a tree line aproximately 700 feet from the approach end of runway 24.

There is a cable in the tie down area
